RACE ANNOUNCEMENT – 13^οςNIMFEA FORTRESS TRAILRUN

RodopiRunners organizes the 13^thNimfea fortress TRAILRUN on Sunday 17th of November 2024 at 08:00 o'clock

The race has a total distance of 40 km. with a positive altitude of 2,050 meters, starting and ending at the Nimfea Tourist Kiosk "Château Nouveau". Nimfea Tourist Kiosk.

The race follow the curcular route: Nimfea Tourist Kiosk -1^η The race follows the circular route: Nimfea Tourist Kiosk - 1st wellspring - Church of St. George - Pyramid 24 (Greek-Bulgarian border) - Pyramid 22 (Greek-Bulgarian border) - Dragati Military Outpost - Altitude 784 m "Lithari" - Watering trough - Cannon - Altitude 564 m and return to finish at the Nimfea Tourist Kiosk "Château Nouveau".

The race is part of the ITRA race series, offering 1 point. Those participants that are interested in their ITRA ranking are requested to fill in their name during registration in Latin characters as it appears on the ITRA lists.

The race is open to all runners over the age of 18. Runners over 16 years of age can participate by having a declaration of their guardian.

Athletes' participation requires finishing a Half-marathon mountain running race in the last two years. The race, and the year of its performance, will be declared in the relevant field on the registration form.

Registrations will only take place online through the association's official website, www.rodopirunners.gr and then in the "Athletopia" application and only with the use of a bank card. A registration is ONLY considered valid after the payment stage, and participants will also be notified by personal email from the app.

The registration opening date is September 5, 2024..

The registration fee is set at 30€.

Each runner will receive their participation pack, which will include the timing chip (Bib), his/her unique running number and a technical T-Shirt.

The delivery of the package will be picked up at a place and date that will be announced later, while it will be possible to pick it up at a special place before the start of the race.

There will be five (5) supply stations with water, isotonic drinks, gels and fruits at 8,5 – 17 – 23 – 30 - 35 km.

The first three men and first women in the general category as well as the first three men in the age category 50+ are awarded:

• General Category Men
• General Category Women
• Men's Category 50+

All runners must wear their entry number on the front of their chest throughout the race. Otherwise, they may be banned.

In order for the finish time and split times to be recorded for the official results, all runners must wear their timing chip throughout the race and pass over all the timing checkpoints.

All runners must pass the last check point (35th km) within 7.5 hours from the start time of the race. The time duration of the race is set at nine (9) hours. After the time limit, all runners must respect the instructions of the organizers, and stop their race.

Medical services will be provided by the Hellenic Rescue Team, Rodopi branch. It is recommended that all athletes bring a personal flashlight and an aluminium blanket.

At the starting point, there will be a specific storage area for runners' personal belongings. We do not bear any responsibility for any destruction, stealing, loss, etc. of personal items.

Each runner must fully acknowledge the risks involved in participating in the race and has full responsibility for their physical, medical condition and ability to participate. The organization bears no responsibility in case of injury, damage or other damage.

All runners with their participation grant to us the irrevocable right to use their data and photos for statistical data, advertising or future use.

All participating runners have knowledge and acceptance of all of the above.

The starting point is approached from Komotini through the Nimfea Forest and has nothing to do with the village of Nimfea. To get to the starting point, follow the asphalt road that goes up from Komotini to Nimfea Forest.
