Διαδρομή – Ορεινοί Αγώνες Νυμφαίας 40km

The race route mainly follows mountain trails and dirt mountain roads. Out of the total 40,400 meters, only 500 meters are on asphalt. The trails are well-defined and marked. Additionally, marking is carried out in the days leading up to the race to ensure the route is as clear as possible. The total positive elevation gain that athletes will cover is 2,050 meters. The lowest point of the race is at 120 meters above sea level, and the highest point reaches 1,100 meters.

The athlete who will participate must know the demands of running in a mountainous environment and have the required technical training and physical condition of an experienced mountain runner.

ROUTE MARKINGS: The route is densely marked using materials with bright colors or small signs displaying the race’s name or logo, as well as that of the organizing body. Additionally, proper trail markings (in blue/orange paint) help guide the athletes in the right direction; these markings are originally intended for hikers on the mountain paths. Losing the correct route does not result in a penalty, as it cannot provide any advantage to athletes who may get lost. However, it is dangerous for the athlete themselves, as they might find themselves in steep, inaccessible areas of the mountain where search and rescue teams may have difficulty locating them.
